ROUTINE CLEANING |

CLEANING: |
Regularly by vacuuming,
sweeping, or dust mopping
is necessary to maintain the
floor's finish,extend the life of
your new wood floor. Use at
entry ways, the end of steps,
bathroom exits, or other high-
traffic and moisture areas. |

RUGS & MATS: |
Wait 2-3 weeks after a floor
has been installed or refinished
before using rugs or mats. |
|
REMOVE: |
Liquids or spills promptly with
a soft cloth. |
|
MOPPING: |
Use a vacuum or broom for
dry spills and abrasives with
floor care products designed
for your floor's finish.

|
PREVENTATIVE CARE |
|
ALWAYS: |
Use cleaners specifically made for
Urethane-treated floors. |
|
ALWAYS: |
Use floor protectors, such as felt glides.
Maintain the relative humidity between
35% and 55%. Using a humidifier during
the winter and dehumidifier during the
summer will reduce the effects of the
humidity on your new wood floor. |

ALWAYS: |
Remove sand or grit before it has a
chance to be ground into the floor finish. |
|
AVOID: |
Rubber-backed or non-ventilating rugs. |
|
DO NOT: |
Use pre-treated dust mops or
dust mop treatments |

|
COMMON HOUSEHOLD ACCIDENTS |
GREASE SPOTS:
|
To remove grease, tar, or oil, wipe
with a cloth dampened with the
appropriate floor cleaner, followed
by buffing with a clean, dry cloth. |
FOOD, WATER,
PET SPOTS:
|
Remove with a damp cloth, followed
by buffing with a clean cloth. |
WAX OR
CHEWING GUM:
|
Apply crushed ice contained in a
plastic bag, until material is brittle
to crumble off the floor surface.
Remove any remaining material
using a cloth dampened with a mild
cleaning solution, then buff with a
clean, dry cloth. |
STUBBORN
STAINS,SPILLS: |
Wipe with a clean cloth dampened
with an appropriate floor cleaner. |

RECOATING: |
When the original finish, of a hard-
wood floor, is showing signs of wear,
but before it has worn down to the
bare wood. |

paraffin, silicone, and mineral oil. |
